I've read about this before and I think the cutting issue is the easy way to get the first pipe off the turbo, the one with the catalytic converter on it, OUT. It's very easy to drop the tranny crossmember mount and get it out. The converter made it to big to wrestle out on my 08, so i dropped the tranny mount, which also made install alot easier. I would only cut it if you had no way to support the tranny and transfer case.
