pulled the head and the rings were blown between #2 and #3, looks like they moved when I put the head on, and damaged them, so with that part of the ring sticking out it nicked the pistons in those cylinders, I would probably be fine running them, but not going to take the change, ill change them out. Also this time I inspected the head and buffed it up and found a crack in #6 between the exhaust valves so I am taking the head to get pressure tested tomorrow and see how bad the crack is. I didnt look at the head real close the first time I pulled it, I was in too big of a hurry and just left it hanging on the hoist and looked it over real quick, so it was probably there from the begining. From looking at the head, it looks like the rings had been that way for the whole time I was running the truck, because after I blew it, I didnt drive the truck again. If the head tests good then they will deck it for me, and ill throw it back on. I am probably going to pull all the pistons out and either get to used ones and have them all coated or, I will get 6 new ones and have them coated and throw it back together. Probably wont be able to get it back together this time I am home, unless I have everything next week sometime. This next time I am going to super glue the rings in the gasket, and be alot more careful putting the head on so the rings wont move on me. Had alot of problems, but it gave me alot more solutions to do for the next go around.

decided to just mill the worst piston down to get the nick out of it and then mill the others down the same amount, that will lower my compression and cylinder pressures too, and Ill probably have them flycut while I am at it so if I decide to run a different came in the future it will already be done, and then get the pistons coated.

wouldn't lowering compression and cylinder pressures kind of defeat testing purposes?

well it might but so much for pulling the pistons, I jacked the motor up to pull the oil pan and some how my floor jack slipped and dropped the motor and when the motor fell it flipped the oil pan up catching my hand smashing it, so a gash 1 1/2" long and 3/8" deep and 6 stitches later, but luckily its not broken.
