Diesel Greenhorn
Hey, I'm a first time diesel owner. I have a '10 2500 Cummins 4x4. Unfortunately I have the fever to modify w/o using juice. Hence the title "greenhorn" I need help and lots of it! Where I stand right now; I would like to push my truck for everything it has. Where do I begin? What stages should I take? Please help me!!!

Since you want a 10 second truck, I'm guessing you have a 68RFE.
I'd start by Calling Goerend, SunCoast, & ATS. Tell them your end goal and get a transmission from the manufacturer you feel the most comfortable with. A lot will say Suncoast, but their "bulletproof" tranny has only been out for a few months now. Either way, it will be around $8k.
By a new head. Get it ported & machined for a side intake. Might as well get it fire ringed while you're at it. Grab a set of ARP 625's to install your new head with.
Get a CAI, a bigger turbo, and a bigger intercooler.
Since you're running a 2010 get a Black Maxx or a MiniMaxx.
Get a 200GPH fuel pump, 1/2" fuel line, dual CP3 pumps, and 90 or 120HP sticks.
Fine tune your truck from there. The 6.7's bottom end explodes once you get to around 900HP, so if you want more HP than that, you'll need to look at some billet rods.
Air before Fuel, and since you're going to add power, might as well start with the transmission.

Greenhorn Again
First, thanks for all your help ya'll!
I am re-thinking how I am going to upgrade my truck....sky is the limit after my wife approves
I would like to first start off doing the BlackMax programmer. Question - What is the most recommended CAI? Oil or dry filters? Also, exhaust - what would be the best size or brand? Was thinking of 5 inches but wanted to see what everyone thinks...
Is there any other upgrades that I should do w/o going internal in the engine/transmission at this point?
