Default What to do?

So on the rear tail light there is a little plastic keeper that snaps into the rear quarter panel that the tail light snaps into. Its broken a dealer only item so I called the dealer they say it's part of the tail light and have to buy a hole tail light assembly for 80 bucks they won't just sell the plastic piece. I'm thinking it's under warranty but here's the question there was a recall something about reprogramming the ECM I never took it cause I have the smarty and all the deletes. So If I take the Smarty back to stock and let them update the ECM cause I know they will the recall was mandatory. Do you think they will look further or have a problem with the check engine light and all the codes that are going to come up? I know it's against Federal Law to remove the emissions.

Thats a slippery slope.

Save 80 bucks and risk a truck that is running fine VRS. let a dealer mess with the ecm and whatever else they could pull?

If you were looking at a few hundred or thousands it might be worth taking stuff off and trying to fly it, but for 80 bucks i'd save the possibility of a big head ache.

Default recall/removal

Mods was the best thing you could do for your truck, No headaches for you, no more Chrysler/dealer bullshit... That emissions **** is designed with flawed engineering that can't be fixed... trust me I've dealt with it for three and half years.... I have a stock 07.5 6.7 CTD its been a nightmare.. I haven't done any Mods with the thought of warrantee issues.. I have contacted everyone from the EPA to Lemon Law attorneys to the F---king ******** at Chrysler.... and the Federal Trade Commission..... NOBODY CARES !!! So here is what I have learned..... Mods do not do anything determental to the engine. Everyone knows they enhance the performance.... Mods are not a reason to void your warrantee I wouldn't let Chrysler bully you on that. Mods will actually keep you from having any warrantee visits to the dealer anyway..... I have had my truck in fifteen times for the engine light...everyone of them was clogged emissions.... same thing.....tear it apart and clean it.... put new componenets on it so they can clog in another month or two.... on going cycle wish I had modded mine along time ago....... one other point....... as far as the removal and federal laws.... Chrysler isn't in a positon or the business of enforcing Federal laws.... and for that matter neither is the Federal Government.... lucky us.... good thing you and I both live in a state with no emissions test....
