smoke

I think its all preferance. I personally had a 11 second race truck that would smoke so much you couldnt see behind you. My 6.7 im not looking for 600 horse by any means but i would like it to throw a nice thick cloud when i feel like messing around. And yeah they might throw more emissions at us but we will always find a way around it and honestly without smoke why have a diesel!! It makes the world go round
Eventually we aren't going to find a way around it anymore. The emissions standard are gioing to get so strict and more and more states are going to have emissions testing as strict as California.

you should be bitch slapped. diesels aren't for smoke genious. they're for torque and towing a lot of weight while keeping reasonable mileage and sometimes just mileage. not for smoke. ya when you got a lotta power you'll throw some smoke but theres a reason for that not just to say you can throw a cloud and have no power which is exactly what a smoke switch does

My opinion on smoke switches is that they are stupid I put one on my truck a year or so ago ,but I bet I have only used it once to see if it worked. I dont drive around being a general jerk either bottom line is its your truck do as you wish with it ,but if you want to smoke do it with something other than a switch. I mainly did mine to see what it made the stock sensors read took my boost up to 27 psi at idle so it would fuel heavy with a little reving. I took the picture in my avatar by loading the engine and flooring it with H&S tuning. That was also before a turbo upgrade. Now my truck hardley smokes. Bottom line is its your truck do as you wish with it and its none of my business ,but it would be much better to see you save your money and spend it on a tuner of some sort.

Used to have an OBS 94.5 7.3 powerstroke TD w/ stage 2 injectors, 140hp chip, 4" exhaust and guages. I added power and got the smoke as a bonus.
