Default H&S XRT with "0" is no longer useable?

Am I understanding their website correctly? I bought my XRT a little over a year ago and it has the "0 level hardware board", this is from the website:
"Notice !!!! All "0" level hardware boards "0" Level hardware boards have not been used for H&S production lines for over 18 months. Because of this, these units are no longer warrantied by H&S Performance.

For a limited time, we are offering a $350 discount for XRT owners who wish to upgrade to the XRT Pro. Please contact H&S for more information."

So does that mean I spent nearly $1000 and now this thing is useless?

Yes, I went to try and update my "0" model and put a little milder tune in it and now when I plug it in it just reads "Error in Checksum, please rerun upgrade application", and I've tried to download it numerous times tonight and it looks as if its working, gets to 100% and then begins all its checks, then the error message reappears.

So it looks as if all the software and updates will only work if you have the "1-28" models, which I do not.
