Default Head Gasket leak - I'm going to BOMB it.

The head gasket started leaking last week. The overflow is full, and truck looses coolant steadily. I am using Smarty with the DPF deleted, and now I put it on SW 0 to try and reduce pressures.
I was running it on SW 1 or SW 3 before it went, just normal use, not even towing, and only 12000 miles on the truck.
So, I am going to delete the EGR and the cooler, and add some parts for more airflow.
The first thing will be ARP studs, I am using the 425's, they should be better than stock.
Next is the EGR cooler delete, and I am going to add a grid heater delete.
The grid delete gives better air flow, but I live in Canada, eh.
So, I am adding a throttle valve delete, that includes a grid heater, but with much better flow than the stock heater. The parts are on order from Glacier Diesel.
That should eliminate all the Dpf -EGR from the truck, and next will be a wastegate.
I am going to start wrenching on it tomorrow.

I will definately need a boost gauge, EGT gauge , are any other gauges recommended? Is there a drive pressure gauge? I am using Smarty ME 14, so I will just use SW2 or 4.

Those guages will be ok for some things but one question how far are you planning to push your truck 500 HP? 700?

I'm looking for about 500 hp, without a turbo or injector upgrade, should be no problem. That power level will likely delete my stock clutch pressure plate.

I want to keep that drive pressure down, and not blow out the HG again. I am going to use the Pro-gate wastegate from Glacier diesel. It hooks in to the EGR ports on the manifold, and can be adjusted. This unit is probably overkill for a stock truck, but will be there if I ever want a higher HP level

Make sure you use a "Genuine" Cummins Gaskit Kit. Not a cheapo placed inside a Cummins Box sold as a "Genuine".
