Default 6.7 Build

Hey guys I'm new into the 6.7 world here but I have a business in diesel performance starting up here I was just doing friends trucks but I have grown into now getting customers. Well I got a guy with a 2009 6.7 coming in and he is wanting to put exhaust and turbo just some odd ball things on it. After doing research I have found that I have to do a EGR delete to do the turbo and a DPF delete which I thought but I also found you need to buy special programmers for these years when you get into those deletes. Does anyone have any advice on other things I have to delete to get full power potentinal for this guy?

What tuner were you thinking of doing on his truck? What turbo? You thinking of doing like a stage 1 VGT or doing like a regular fixed vain turbo? Auto or Manual?

if it where me I'd delete the dpf, nox filiter, egr, and egr cooler which can be done pretty simply with the use of a smarty, smarty Jr., XRT, or mini/Blackmaxx. On the turbo I would personally go fixed depending on what your customer wants... all out performance/ or tow hog. I personally wanted all out performance for mine so I went with a silver bullet turbo it spooled like stock even back when I had stock injectors and cp3. oh and on the exhaust if you run any of the programmers listed you can put 5.9 performance exhaust that fits 04.5-07 5.9s on the 07.5-09 6.7 trucks. The turbo swap can be done easy I have a thread here on my turbo swap with a little bit of a write up on it. anyhow just my .02

Id go with the H&S Performance Parts hands down for the delete tuner. And if you are going for performance id definitely get him into a Air Dog so you wont run out of fuel supply. And if he doesnt care about the warranty get a BD 2 piece third gen manifold and a silver 66 or 64 from Industrial Injection but he will loose his exhaust brake. so if he wants to keep that Id do the stage 1 or 2 hybrid vgt which still keep the exhaust brake.

Well reading around I have found that the H&S Tuner to be the best there is for that truck and what are the advanagated to the hydrid turbos compared to the regular Phat shafts also I mean I been reading into the H&S will be oushing that to close to the five hundred horsepowr range and I do not know what the limit would be for his engine where I will be making internal upgrades such as headstuds or other internal items?

Alright guys this is what I'm thinking about doing for the guy
1. Black Maxx Race Tuner
2. 5inch turbo back exhaust
3. EGR Delete Kit
4. Intake Manifold
5. Boost Tube
6. Arson III Kit
7. Air dog
All of this I'm estimating between four and five hundred horse in that general area is there things I should add or take off for a better combination?

Head studs are always a good idea IMO. The H&S on the middle setting did 466 and 945 at weekend on the edge in our 2010 6.7 with a stage 2 afe intake and a 5" inch flo~pro exhaust. But i would definitely do the overdrive trans tuning if its a auto and get a airdog lift pump. With the Hybrid vgt turbos you get to keep the factory exhaust brake which you would loose with the phat shaft style turbo. And also with the VGT turbos they are a direct bolt in replacement. Where as with a paht shaft you need to get a 3rd gen manifold so the turbo will bolt up

Well thats what I want to hear so turbo wise it would be a better performance advanagate to do the Hybrid turbo also I have the air dog in my quote finally withthe head studs would it just be better to do that upgrade now before it would go farther

Yes i would do the head studs for sure. Performance wise the hybrid vgt would prolly sppol quicker than the phat shaft but wont the vgt wont make the power of the phat shaft type turbo. And the phat shaft would be a tougher turbo in my opinion. Both will cool off the egts over stock.

Your parts list you pulled up would be a good 450 to 500 hp setup. And you could get him the mini maxx tuner also its the same tunes as the black maxx just a smaller unit and 250 bucks cheaper. The mini maxx also has all the same features of the black maxx unless he wants the big screen. I would aslo look into a stage to air intake and a ported rail fitting as well to help maintain rail pressure.
