Default tranny oil?

Ok - I am going to change my tranny pan and wanted to know what oil is recommended to put in? Is the factory Dodge oil what everyone is running or Asmoil, or ...

This is going in my 2008 3500 auto.

Thanks for the comments

I would look into doin amsoil or any synthetic that is rated to the same specs as dodges. It will be more money but it will be better fluid

The 68RFE uses the same 7176E spec fluid as the previous Dodge gearboxes, otherwise known as ATF+4. Most +4 fluids are a GpIII-based semi-syn, which is fine - that is the spec. Valvoline makes a full syn +4, which I would recommend if you want to spend more on something a little better. Do not use any of the multi-vehicle or any other boutique oils that claim compatibility unless they display the 7176E spec. That goes for Amsoil or anything else - they are not compatible with the clutch material.

Thank you both for the responses. I will look into the Valvoline.
