I am doing the EGR/cooler delete, DPF/CAT delete, put in air intake on, giting the smarty jr and putting stacks on my truck. It's an 08 3500 dulley and I tow a 16,000lb trayler. So the ?is do I need to upgrade any thing elese like the tranny / tourque converter or will it all hold up with this done? Do I need to get EGT and boost gauges? Thank y'all for your help

Gauges are always good, still pretty unsure if theres much of any benifit to getting rid of the cooler. One thing I heard is, "It makes the truck lighter". That seems real important...

Getting rid of the cooler will help, i mean, your throwing used air into your motor, less one thing that has the potintial to leave you standed on the road. Not sure if it helps fuel econmy, but helps run a little smoother for sure.

The egr, cooler, dpf and smarty jr are all being done this weekend. I guess my question is more weather the tranny and tourque converter will hold up and if I need to get the gauges with all this done.

I got rid of the EGR valve and blocked it off ETC. But ive still got the cooler. That doesnt re-circulate anything, I thought... By the way, I see in your sig you have a "shimmed relief valve" could you tell me a little about it? Seems like something I could use.

I would recomend some headstuds also if you plan on towing alot, especially if you do more than just a tuner

I did notice a good drop in coolant temp when i did the cooler delete...thats got to help. And a EGT gauge should be a must...its amazing what a tuner can do just passing another car at 80 mph on a descent tune. But whats hot egt seems to be up for debate...i have heard the dpf trucks were built to run hoter do to the dpf..but i believe those higher temps are rated in the dpf itself and you shouldnt feel safe with those temps at the manifold...but then i have heard higher numbers on the header too...12-1300 is hot any way you cut it...
