Or you can "douche" it. I do it on my race car all the time. Get a can of carb cleaner, pop the intake off and hose that baby down. It will droll any oilly crap and blast it right through when you light it off. I would assume the VGT part clogs on the exhaust side so you could try and blast that to?? I have never hurt any seals or any other myths you may hear. The impeller speed is in the 100 of thousand rpm, so the internals are way thougher then most people want to believe. Mine has not clogged on my truck yet, but I can gurantee a can of Super Tec Carb cleaner will go through it first before I pull it off!

I had my truck come up with the turbo super boost code once at about 12K... I reset the code, and put the thing in 5th gear and held it up at about 2600 to 2800 rpm on teh highway for a good 20 miles, ever since then I now run the exhaust brake 100% of the time, and once a week I make a point to lock the truck in 5th gear on my way to and from work... I haven't had a single problem since. I have about 21000 on it now, and other then a fuel leak coming from the front of the motor somewhere that I'm calling the dealer about tomorrow, I've had no other problems. I usually, bring all my trucks in once a year for a tranny, transfer case, front and rear differential fluid changes, so that way there's some record of the maintenance being done, and it also gives them the chance to look the truck over while they have it there to see if there's anything else starting to act up.
I've head alot about the turbo sooting... but knock on wood I've had just that one code then that was it. I think I blew it out on my hard ride home that day, and since I started doing that on a regular basis, it's been happy. I did make one trip from CT to knoxville and back to pick up my new auto hauler, 1880 miles round trip... truck burnt some fuel on the way home with the 24 foot box on the back (average 12 mpg @ 70mph) and it's seemed to run better since that trip too, fwiw. Way down with the old hauler I traded with the guy (open 18 foot) I did see about 17.8 mph and was going about 75 the whole way, except when it was snowing, that part I kept it around 60 but was in 4wd.
