Default new Smarty V15 ME question

Hi everyone,

I am excited to see this new version so I can begin to enjoy my truck again. As you all know, I had to put it all back to stock to take it to the dealership.

My question is simple.

In order to run the ME version, can i simply unplug the electrical connection to the EGR as instructed on Mads site and change the exhaust or do I have to remove the EGR?

I was thinking it is pretty easy for me to replace the exhaust (under an hour) and I could do it tonight. I have the EGR and cooler delete plates but I have to buy new gaskets before I can remove them.

I eagerly await all your feedback.

Thanks,
GMB

AFAIK you can just do the unplugs on the EGR servo and butterfly, pull the plunger on the EGR actuator and be OK to run with it until you want to totally block it off. That was my plan too very soon...

Thanks for the info. I will hopefully have time tonight to perform this and get my MPG back.

I thought we couldn't reuse the metal gaskets. you guys are? If you are with no problems, I will try.

the ones on the EGR aint metal...mines not neway...but they wasnt stuck with ne kind of silicone or nething....took EGR off and the gaskets came rite off with no problem...did have the EGR dealer, just happen so they "lost" a new gasket and left it on my battery...put it up for safe keeps just in case one gets ripped one day.
