As long as you don't get a dent in it, you'll be fine. I will say yours is the first I've seen with aluminum though. You sure it's not painted?

yeah i had an alum on my 07 1500 first ive heard of it on a 3/4 though cool

Mines an 08 and his is an 08.... Mines standard though... Or it could have something to do with the Laramie package... Or Something.

mine is an 08 it has a steel driveshaft and is an sxt package witch is just another st package hmm dont know kinda interesting what is your build date

Heck, I dunno. Should ask some 09 guys and see if they have aluminum.. Maybe that would make mine a late 08.

they started installing aluminum shafts in the 07.5 trucks

i bought mine in august 08...it has an aluminum shaft...glad they beefed up the shaft and did away with that damn carrier bearing like my 04.5 had...replaced that bastard 3 times

mine has a build date of april 08 and i bought it in July of 08 and it has a steel drive shaft
