EGR butterfly valve

The idea is to un-mount the motor and leave the EGR plugged in. This will make the ECU think that all is well. However, when the EGR opens the air inlet valve closes, at least partially, which will starve your motor for air. It you leave the EGR plugged in and blocked off, you must remove the air inlet butterfly. When I did, my grid heater stays on. I had to unplug it. The grid heater sensor must be near the EGR flow. I did not unmount my EGR motor. I only blocked the Tube form the exhaust to the EGR, and left it plugged in. Good luck.

I don't know if this is normal or not. When I removed mine it made no difference when I turn the truck off, or otherwise, except for the grid. Remember, you are modifying your truck from the original manufacturers design and build. This will result in problems / quirks. Try different things. You can always return your truck to the way it was before and see if that was indeed the cause. I am a ways away from a programmer, $$$. I am really hoping to get one so I can see what this bad boy can do with a little more work. Again, good luck.
