Seems to me that after you have removed the DPF you can extend the oil change interval if you wish. The problems are with clogging the DPF and thus giving you alot of back pressure. Causing A failure of whatever is weakest internally. Once it is gone then soot it up if ya like... Takes alot to choke A 4 or 5 inch pipe.

A lot of guys are still doing 5k oil changes with deletes. Some use synthetic and bumped it up to 7500 miles. Others use a by-pass kit and synthetic and go 10k plus......

I went with a flo-pro and a smarty from cobbs deisel performance right at 800 bucks. Hell of alot better than buying a 2000 dollar filter.

I wish it was that long.. I change mine every 5000KM. Which is every 3100 Miles. Up here my motor would be in pieces before I ever made 10KMiles. Save the poor thing and spend the 60 bucks to give it some help.... If we didn't have so many cold starts up here I am sure we could stretch it out.

I have been doing alot of looking around as well and I am in the same mind set as you. My dodge has plenty of power I just want to get rid of the darn gas guzzler under my truck. I don't want to modify the ECU in anyway and I want it to be as trouble free as possible. I was directed to gearboxz from another forum and from what Ive read their kit seems to be one of the few that does just a simple dpf delete. I'm thinking really serious about getting one. I found them at Gear Box Z.

I think you need to do alittle more research on what actually happens.

Default dpf delete

i have a 2008 dodge 6.7 quadcab short box 3500 6 speed manual. i want to delete the dpf and possibly the egr. can anyone tell me where to start? how much will it cost me? and will i get any check engine lights? im currently getting 17 to 18 mpg average and 20+ on the highway, will i see an increase in mpg? the truck has 52000 miles but is out of warranty due to age. not worried about warranty. i live in central ny, can do alot of work myself as far as bull work but not to keen on electronics. is there any shops in this area that can do it? thanks everyone
