The main problems you will have with the DPF being on your truck, are that it tends to clog up sooner if you let your truck idle for extended periods of time, poor mileage when it goes in to regen mode, which is to burn the soot out of the DPF, and gradually decreasing performance as it loads up with soot, then again leading to the regen cycle, poor mileage again... you get the idea. As long as the DPF is on there, you'll keep going round and round with it. One thing you can do to help somewhat is take it out once a week or so, and drive it about 55-60mph in 5th gear so your RPMs are up around 2000. Drive it for at least 30 minutes straight at those speeds. I've found this to help some, but it's not cure all.
I don't baby mine, and I've still had to have two forced regens done by the dealer. Another problem area to be aware of is the EGR cooler. It likes to clog up as well.
As was said before, it will void your factory warranty if the dealer finds out you have removed it. It is also in violation of federal emissions laws. If you're concerned about the factory warranty, you have two choices. Either live with it being a pain in the butt, or do like CumminsTech said, and put it back to stock before you take it in.
Something else you might consider is a water/methanol injection setup like the one from Snow Performance. It will help it run cleaner, which means you go into regen less often, and it will also help your mileage some. Not to mention a bit more power.

SOME OF THE MAIN PROBLEMS WITH THE DPF IS THAT IT CREATES TO MUCH BACK PRESSURE CAUSING THE TURBO TO CLOG UP WITH SOOT. THIS IS WHY A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH STOCK TRUCKS HAVE TO TAKE THERE TRUCKS TO THE DEALER TO GET THE TURBO CLEANED. BUT IF YOU STRIGHT PIPE IT YOU WILL SEE A HUGE GAIN IN MPG. BUT AS FOR THE EGR COOLER BEING CLOGED UP HAS TO DO WITH THE DPF AND THE BACK PRESSURE.

most people with 6.7's have had to have turbos cleaned/replaced, reflashed computers (which dont seem to help much) and many want buybacks. i personally am staying away from it but to straight pipe talk to h and s performance, also a few companies make kits with a chip and the pipe. 6.7's do sound awesome with stacks tho!
