I have been absent from the site with work for a while and need to know what news if any there is on a working DPF Delete kit.

Last I heard was BADP was working on a code free kit, but it wasnt finished or released yet! Any new news??? Mine has to go....

Yea Bay Area Performance has there kits out for regular trucks and Cab and chassis kits are being wrapped up. They are pricey though.

Thanks Phil,

Have you heard if they have perfected the 'code free' models yet? I cant seem to get any 'good' info!

Yea, they've had trucks going around for a few months now with no codes at all. Significant mileage gains as well. You got a reply to that pm I sent you?

Would you guys mind explaining what the delete does exactly. I'm looking at buying the 08 right now, but I have great reservations because of the dpf and the whole smog deal. Is there a pipe that replaces the canister or what is done? How effective is this and how long does it take to put the stuff back on when we gotta smog it in 2010?

Does this mod completely get rid of the bad stuff and make it run similar to the 06's.

You can get a kit that just replaces the DPF and CAT but leaves the factory downpipe in place. You can get a kit that replaces the whole exhaust up to the muffler. You can get a kit that replaces the whole exhaust. You can simply unplug the EGR. You can unplug it and install plates where the EGR meets the intake. Or you can get a kit that removes the entire EGR system altogether.
The EGR is the main culprit causing all the problems in these trucks. Get rid of it and your truck will be happy. Now, doing this without also deleting the DPF may cause lots of black smoke when you accelerate so most guys choose to do both deletes at the same time. My truck only smoked a little bit with just the EGR unplugged...

Default DPF Confusion

Hey, guys im new to the dpf but am an avid diesel tunner. I have been trying to figure out if i can just make my own pipe and use my edge juice with attitude monitor to clear codes. Do i really need one of the modules to fool the computer. I already have my egr unplugged right now. Any info is appreciated
