Default turbo is saying bye bye.

2008 2500 6spd. my turbo is starting to squeel on me in high boost ( trying to pass someone) and when the exhaust brake is under a heavy load. the mods i have is DPF delete, EGR delete, smarty jr and edge for boost and egt. trucks runs great around town and on interstate, went you press the pedal down and hold it u can hear the turbo cant keep up. just trying to get some ideas on an upgraded turbo that can handle the load and power. been researching but have seen very little reviews. thanks folks!

Are you sure its not just an exhaust leak

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

I'll examine more closely at the system. Wouldn't expect that since I only hear it at high boost. Thanks for the info fella

as boost rises so does drive pressure which makes an exhaust leak more evident. is it a steady sqeel or does it pulse? have you had any of the turbo/intercooler boots off recently?

Also pull intake tube off and see if it shows marks from the compressor wheel hitting the housing

checked the turbo houseing and the wheel is scraping along the housing.. has some play to it. now ive been lookin at turbo upgrades but everything i find you have to get a 5.9 cummins mani and other tune. is there anywhere you can find a turbo that can hold bout 550 horse... any help in the right direction will be awesome. I tow cars and horses as well. so hopefully i can find one quickly so I wont have a lot of downtime.

yeah if its touching the housing its time to rebuild or replace it. if you want to keep the exhaust brake then you will just have to go back with the same turbo, you can how ever upgrade it to a billet wheel. you can get an adapter flange so you can use your manifold but you are correct a new tune will be required.
