Where abouts are you located?

Chevron fuel is ALL we use along with the odd gulp of PS.
Do you guys have Chevron in BC??? (Sorry off topic-just curious)

Yes. You have them in AB too (just only commercial fuelling I think).

What colour is the smoke? Is it when cold or when sitting or what? You really need a fuel pressure gauge on there to determine if the lift pump in the tank is working the way it was intended (notice I didn't say designed!). Get the dealer to run a complete scan and have them tell you what the fuel pressure is at the CP3 injection pump. Also, have them drop the tank, inspect for debris and inspect or remove the screen on the bottom of the draw tube on the lift pump.

This is why most of us don't have OEM lift pumps - they suck. Have them remove the OEM filter canister and inspect for debris as well as if the WIF (water in fuel) and FH (fuel heater) sensor is working correctly. Next and very unlikely is to check the drain port on the OEM filter cannister and make sure that the oring is not damaged in some way as this will suck air into the system at this point causing all kinds of neato problems with your CP3 pump.

Everything else I can think of would have or should have set off a CEL (or CWL - check wallet light for those of us without any warranty!).

Good luck.

Just a thought, but have you checked to see if the recall has been done for the Oxygen sensor module?

O2 sensor on a diesel? Really? Is this on the DPF or someplace like that?

It is likely, if this is the case that a CEL would come on.

One in front & one behind the dpf. If the sensor is bad it might not know to trip a cel.

I had the exact same problem, 8 days after I bought it. The dealer reflashed and said it was bad perameters on the computer. Reflash and update fixed it. Unfortunatly it also knocked my mpg numbers down, but it runs like a stripped *** ape. Hope this helps.

It might be your turbo is clogged up. I know it sounds crazy but i have an 07 6.7L that was having the same problems took it to the dealership and they took it apart and cleaned it out. Never had one light or message to come on either. Just somethin to check into cause I thought the same thing at first bad fuel, bad sensors, electronics, etc. But it was the turbo was clogged up.

Sorry, it won't be the turbo. Could very well have been the DPF or the EGR but not the VVT.

Your truck will continue to run poorly if it is not worked. Idling should also be cut out 100% as there is no need to do so unless you engage the high idle to place load on the motor.
