Why thaink you for the intelligent comment! I wanted to know whatsize it was so I could get with my supplier and just order the needed materials... but since noone coudl tell me I just made do with what I had laying around.... being that this was the first 08 I did and the piep size wasn't known.. I figured I'd ask on here.

Big mistake obviously!

But, now that I do know (4 inch will work or with a 4 to 3.5 step you can do it with 3.5, or if you want to just go bigger for no real reason a 4 to 4.5, and a 4.5 to 5 inch adapter can be done if you just want the stovepipe look) what size it is, I'm all set. 14 trucks done so far, 175 bucks a piece installed and painted flat black so far and 2 more scheduled for this weekend.

Beats paying what the aftermarket is charging for a muffler delete and out the back setup, everyone loves the out the side look and the flat black paint hides it very well as well.

Make your appt now

The pipe is 4". But a muffler delete makes next to no sound difference. Good luck buddy.

It's not about making noise... It's a simple way of replacing the stock rusty back tailpipe and deleting the muffler..... For 1/2 the cost of any of the emmissions back setups. And, getting it out in front of the rear tire which is generally more appealing. Last week I did one for another guy, 4 inch 90 and 4 inch pipe out with a nice chrome tip... Whole thing built and painted I got 200 installed for. Ya can't buy a dpf back for that nevermind have someone install it. 2 more to do in the next 3 weeks already, one dodge, one duramax. Hi there I know this thread is old but I picked it up on Google and a reply may help some one, so it may help some midnight engineer in the future.

I went out to the truck (07 3500 4x4) and measured the pipe at the tip and came out with an ID of 3 11/16s. according to the builders guide the 2500 and 3500 are exactly the same.

One other thing is that if you go to Home | Dodge Body Builder's Guide you can access pretty much every single stock spec about any dodge ram. I have used it several times for a bumper build, custom snow plow mount, a custom gooseneck build, and to plan loads for my business, the specs seem to be pretty much dead on.

BTW stock exhaust pipe size isnt in the builders guide
