Default New Megacab!

Well I was going for a new F-450 King Ranch, but after driving one for a while, I went with a new Megacab. I just picked it up last night so I have not have time to sleep yet! All night I was thinking about all the possibilities. First, does anyone know how to stop the seatbelt chime? I wear my belt 99% of the time, except when I am on the ranch, I do not need it or the annoying dinging! Second, with the whole dpf and the straight pipes not quite figured out yet, is there any exhaust system that is a little better than the stock exhaust? And what about a new airbox, S&B, or anything to get just a little more power and mpg's. My truck is a 6 speed manual. Will post pictures soon, it is dark blue with gold on the bottom.

I don't know how to stop that chime either, but if you find out let me know. I always wear a seatbelt, but hooking up to trailers, moving around in the yard and rolling 1/4 mile down a gravel road in the woods at work i have to listen to that annoying chime. Are you looking for stacks for the truck, or just a better standard exhaust. I just saw an article in diesel power, i think, putting stacks on a chassis cab dodge with dpf.

I am in the same boat as you! I can tell that when I am driving around the ranch checking pastures, or looking for deer, that thing is going to drive me nuts! I saw that article also, and I think it was in 8lug, but I am not looking to do stacks, just an exhaust that sounds good and adds to the performance. Also looking at new airbox or intake.

Look in the owners manual for the seatbelt deal.

I have an MBRP 5" turbo back exhaust on my truck, but mine has the 5.9 being an 06 and all. I'm currently running a K&N cold air intake. I've never had any code problems with it and I really like the simplicity of install. Some have told me it's too loud, but I like it! I think for your truck quite a few manufacturers are making dpf back kits, just depends on what you want. I would really love to get rid of the chime. I reprogrammed the door lock using the key fob so it doesn't chirp every time I lock the doors. That was kind of annoying to me, but not as bad as that seatbelt chime. I don't think the dealer will redo the seatbelt chime, but there has to be a way to get rid of it.

If that seatbelt chime annoys ya just get the seat belt from the passenger side or any other one and buckle it in for now, all the seat belt does is complete the circuit thats inside the buckle, I think you should be able to just jump the wires in the buckle and the chime will go away for good.

Have any pics of your new truck??

1.with the key off buckle the seatbelt 2.turn the key in the on position wait for the seatbelt light to go off, as soon as it goes off buckle and unbuckle and buckle the seatbelt 3 times real fast and end with it buckled.and cut the key off afterward chime should beep once if done correctly. hope hat helps and its in the manual if you get lost
