Default is this all i need to do?

I have searched for my answer but have not found the exact answer i am lookong for, i unplugged my egr on my 2011 the one on top of the intake horn but have seen some stuff about removing the gear from the unit that is lower down on the intake horn, do i need to do this as well or will just unplugging the top one be sufficient? Will there be any side effects from not removing the gear? Or will i be ok?

Also the more i read the more i want to do full deletes with a smarty jr. But my truck only has 5000 miles on it, shud i wait till i have more miles on it befor deleting just in case i have a problem?

Unplugging works from what I've heard. The desision to modify is up to you but the 2011 hasn't had any problems that I know of except for very poor fuel economy. While I'm on the subject, how's yours. Mine is poor at 11 mpg empty and 9 mpg towing a 30 foot 5th wheel.

I average about 11.5 in town up to 12-12. 5Depending on my foot, i just unplugged the egr today anf it runs way better without it, i cant help but think that its going to get better, i barely hafta give it any gas to take off now(6 speed manny) befor it would fall on its face on takeoff and id hafta give it alot of throttle to take off, now its driving much better with def notice in power improvement.i have gotten 17 highway unloaded and about 13 pulling y 4500 lb boat, bout to realy find out how she does im going on a 600 mile trip pulling my 15000 lb 5er, so we will see in a couple weeks when i hit the road. Thanks for the help, i was just worried about hurting something.

Do the deletes and let it breath clean and easy. The better the air goes in and gets out the more efficient the engine will be.
