Default Dpf & erg questions

Hey guys I'm new to the site n I have a few questions maybe yall can help me out. I got a 08 2500 megacab that is basically stock except for the wheels n tires, and a bully dog gt tuner. I am wanting to delete the egr n dpf from the truck but, I don't know if upon doing so, the tuner will erase those codes and I will b ok. Also I dont know what brands to use for the deleting process..any ideas help..thanks guys.

Is it legal to completely delete everything where you live?

Default questions

I had similar questions, long hours of online research, buggin everybody I knew with a diesel for answers. I found out a lot of things the dealer doesn't tell you at youtube. they have videos of some chick being educated about the dpf and what it does, about half the truth by some tree hugger mechanic. But I found a video on installing the exhaust and what all it does. I found out that they don't tell you between 50k and 100k you will pony up $2k to replace the dpf and the poor design of the system as a whole. YOu get spent fuel used to "regen" the filter dumped into the crankcase!!!! full of soot, nice design, that should add to more money for the dealership. and on and on. the dealer refused to answer my questions on dpf replacement, stating that they need an error code for diagnosis and price quotes. I have a 2008 with 35k, I won't look back, the dpf delete is such a no brainer decision. The dealership already told me my truck was classified, "modified" and warranty work would have to evlauated berfore performed. The modification was a deep hy-tech tranny pan!!!!

well guys i beleive that I am sold on the idea of getting rid of the DPF and EGR.. last question, what the difference in the EGR delete then deleting the EGR and cooler. Can you delete one without the other.. please help on this one...thanks

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Well I ordered the dpf delete n the downpipe also..the tuner is a xrt pro tuner..now how do I delete the egr..is it done with the tuner or do I have to remove some things manually?

Im not sure with the XRT but with the Mini Max you can just just turn off the EGR. I completely removed mine. Hated looking it at and it doesnt need to be on there.
