Default Possible front differential trouble...help

Hey there fellars ...need some advice on this issue im having..got a clicking noise coming from directly under my feet and feel it in pedals and steering wheel when I drive. I got under it and inspected the front axle shaft area for loose hardware and only noticed when grabbed (what I think is front small shaft going from transfer case to back of front differential )and that I could wiggle it a bit to the left and right a bit(is that normal?) Because it would rule out that problem but I did notice passenger side u joint wiggle a bit when doing so...think that's the culprit? Also, drivers side axle shaft looks like its wet from a leak..if its seal will I have to remove the whole side Just to get to it or is there an easier way to replace it? Thanks all for help with this issue.
