Honestly, since it's dumping that much fuel into the engine, there's a good chance it's already fuel washed cylinders and scored them.
Personally, with that being a very high probability, I'd try to run it until it had a serious problem they can't rule out, then make them warranty the engine, then I'd do the deletes right after.

Otherwise if you do the deletes now, the potential is high that there is already damage done and it may start using oil because of it.

Something similar happened on a friend's '05 under warranty and they finally took care of the problem with a complete new longblock, with new injectors.
They fought him tooth and nail the whole way, though.

Mark.

Hey, richb do the deletes. I fought with chrysler for three years. There is no fix for the emissions problem... . I had to do the deletes just so I could use my truck. You do have the option to join the class action law suit, that is if you have a couple years with which you can wait to receive a measley couple dollars. (the attorneys will absorb most of that money). Chrysler filed bankruptcy and they are not buying any trucks back... the stealerships are using the o'l you bought bad gas with water in it so warrantee won't cover that.... just do the deletes you and your truck will be much happier. You probably will never have to take your truck back for warrantee work once the emissions is gone..... thats been my experiance anyway good luck

I say delete it man! It will turn it in to a whole new truck with even better fuel mileage most of the time. Also keep everything for sooting up like it is now.

Just curious do you run your exhaust brake all the time?

Getting rid of the valve that recirculates spent exhaust gasses back into the engine cant be bad. Thinking logically, it just makes sence to let your engine breath clean air right? So i would not think twice about deleting the egr system.
