Blown Tranny!! What to do??
Stock? probably not a bad idea since you dont keep trucks very long. On the other hand, its a work truck so why put yourself in this situation again? Plus, its a writeoff as well - so spend some $$$$$
Brad, Mel at Excel Transmission in Red Deer is supposed to be pretty good. He has installed Goerend parts as well.

Stock is looking like the best warranty, but worst performance. BD and NADP neither have full trannies ready to go, and NADP warranty doesnt look so good. The BD warranty looks awesome, but only if they build it. Tried to have the kit shipped and then we would build it here, but that wont work.
Stock also looks about half price of a BD...
I have it at the dealership right now, they do a lot of my work, and let me do most of my mods without hassling me about warranty refusal and such. So I might pay a bit more but I do get exceptional service from them...Called from the field, said I was coming in, and to clear a bay, and it was ready when I arrived, the tranny was out 2 hrs later.
So to answer your question, I have a dealer tech who is a pretty good mechanic...
What are you thinking for parts? And how quick could we get them here?
I am going to make some calls tomorrow to see what we can do. PM me your address so I can get a quote on shipping if we can make something work.

PM sent, thanks!
at the least put in a good valve body or a shift kit, if it is anything like the old 47's and 48's idling for extended periods w/o it being in neutral isn't good, if i remember you spend a lot of hours idling in the winter don't you?
I definitely used to, dont idle so much any more, couple hours total throughout the day, but very broke up into short periods...
Tranny rebuilt, back in and Im back on the road...
Not bad, 4 days from blow up to back on the road. Bill wasnt even that bad for an 08, I expected worse. Trucks shifts great and feels super. Now have 1 year unlimited miles warranty...gonna be a hard year LOL
