6.7l wastegate

Not sure what type of waste gate your thinking of. A typical waste gate operates off boost psi. EB only actuated when throttle circuit is at full close. ( no throttle ) the amount of drive psi is a big contributer. They have added all that displacement but not made anywhere for it do go. The engine it self is choked down by factory exhaust manifold not to mention to small diameter turbo. I had issues with my 2010 and fixed it. Bought a brand new 2012 HO and pulled head to check for truness. Ha! .004" off head and a whopping .008" of block. How's that for factory tolerance?

1ton i agree with you completely, I am still researching what type of waste gate I want. I guess in regards to my post, I think the heat directly related to the ebp when under a load is probably more of a problem than the actual increase in cylinder pressures so far as blown head gaskets go. As far as sacrifice in exhaust brake performance related to the waste gate, I may be off here but I thought high ebp pressure alone (no boost) could also overcome the waste gate valve...depending on set up etc.

I'm thinking that is more of a blow off valve. The tial setup I'm running from GDP is pretty sweet. Never had and issue. He sets you up with the correct spring rate for what you need. You also regulate the psi applied to control when it opens. But mine is actuated by boost. I gave him a call and he cleared it up for me.
