ok, I'm not real familiar with EGT's and what they're normally at. i know that with the regen cycle they can reach as high as 1800F which is why the pistons and valves are coated in Inconel. i have no EGR or DPF or any other catalyst and rollin 70 down the highway im seein temperatures just over 700. with both programmers all the way up and running hard i havent seen above 1050. is that right or is my sensor shot? cause i think it would be a few hundred degrees higher.

Where is your probe located? Post Turbo? If that is the case you are correct in your numbers. Thats about all i saw with your setup. Preturbo you should see about 1300-1400 on the high end.

its in the exhuast manifold pre turbo. i saw some higher numbers driving back to new york yesterday. it got up to 1150 but other than that it hovers right around 750-800 at highway speeds with boost at 7-10 pounds

with my programmer on and EPP up cruising down the road it jumps around between 850 and 1000. If i get on it, they shoot way up. Like 1600 then Ill shut it down. My 08 has the new smaller intercooler thats hurting my egts. Looking on changing that real soon.

wow, thats a lot higher than mine. which is why i think the sensor is blown. its like 20 degrees up here and my intake temp at the manifold sits around 30-35F. i dunno, maybe the cold weather is why its so low

mine at 55 mph are only around 600-850 with the pre turbo setup

hottest cylinder is number six in my experience. which cylinder is it close to i know a buddt that went from 750* to 1200* by going from number 2 back to number 4 1/2 ish.

its actually dead center in the elbow where it connects to the turbo piping, about two inches from the flange. as long as the reading is good enough i can set max temp to 1300 or somewhere around there, i just dont wanna screw anything up with an inaccurate reading.

im just saying from my experience... the cylinder that will get hottest is number six. do what you want because ultimately its your truck
