Default Tuner/Delete Recommendations

Hello, I am not new to the forums but I have been inactive for quite some time. I looked into doing a delete for my 08 back in 2012 but never did it because I didnt want to void a warranty and wasn't sure about keeping the truck. Now, I have that same stock truck with ~200 miles on it. My truck is in really good shape for its age and mileage, but I have noticed a few P0489 codes over the past year (especially in winter when it was cold). These codes have been intermittent - coming and going now and then with no rhyme or reason. After searching online, the internet leads me to believe it is something with the EGR system and various google results led me to this forum. Since my only problems with this truck are related to the emissions equipment, I am considering removing these components.

After searching the forum and the web, it seems a bit overwhelming to the newbie - so many choices on tuners and kits. I have read posts about smarty, mini maxx, efi live, etc... and have seen dpf delete kits everywhere from eBay to diesel performance shops. At this point, I'm looking for recommendations to help clear things up a bit. My goal is not to blow coal or do any sort of racing. I am simply looking for the best setup to improve the reliability of my truck (hopefully make it last another 200k) and increase fuel economy. Of course, any increase in HP is an added bonus. In terms of budget, I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest option - just one that makes sense. Given these goals, what are your recommendations in terms of tuners and delete kits?

Not sure if this is still active, but the kit you will have to go with now will have to include all the emissions items. Tuner wise, that depends on the type of truck and I am not for sure where the tuners are right now as far as having tunes compatible with the emission items.

Hi, just wondering if you had any success. I haven't been on here for five years or so. I deleted my 07.5 in 2010. I have had zero problems since. Check out H & S tuners. I heard they moved operations to Canada after being sued by the US Government.
