Bone stock 08 6.7 with 68000 miles limp mode question
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hopefully everyone is having a great holiday season this year.
Iv'e been having some intermittent problems here lately. Prior to the 67500 overhead service reminder (at about 65000) I replaced the CCV filter, pulled the EGR valve, crossover tube, and EGR cooler. All of the EGR items were soaked and cleaned with a vengeance. I even pulled the air intake manifold, and the throttle body. Both were cleaned. They were so clean that I could have made my sister eat off of one of 'em. I even cleaned off the MAP sensor too.
The truck ran like a champ, and would get like a scalded dog after all of the work. Even found flange bolts that were never tightened down by the dealer when they went through all of the original recall garbage when first purchased. Showed signs of soot being blown past the gasket and onto the surrounding engine parts.
When I hit the 67500 mark the overhead lit up like a Christmas tree. I cleared it with the brake and gas pedal method. Since that day I've been getting intermittent limp mode when starting the truck. The engine light is lit only when the key is in the on position, but goes out once the truck is started. There are no codes in the system. I've checked with my code reader, and a local shops reader. Each time I've shut the truck down, and repeated the brake and gas peddle reset method mentioned above. After which the truck runs like nothing ever went wrong. I'm in North Carolina, and the temps here have been rather chilly the past few weeks. I'm not sure if that would be a problem since this never happened last year.
Any tips or advise would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking at pulling my O2 sensors tomorrow to clean them. The dealer did the last maintenance on them when they added the insulated wrap to them as per that service recall.
Thank you greatly in advance.
