Default Exhaust brake missing

Hey all. I bought my 2008 Ram last year used and I was told that the exhaust break was standard in that year (the truck was built in July 2007). The problem is, there is no button for the brake anywhere on my console. All I have below my stereo is a thin, deep shelf. Was it really standard? If so, why don't I have one? If not, can I get it installed fairly cheap?

Thanks for your help. :-)

Is your truck stock? Does it have the 6.7 or 5.9. If it is the 6.7 with deletes I bet theyupgraded the turbo and installed the din to do away with a worthless button. The e brake was only standard on the 6.7

Yes, it is a 6.7. I'll have to check the turbo to see if it's stock. I almost have to assume it is. It seems like the previous owner was a farmer and used it as his farm truck. (a gooseneck hitch is insalled in the bed) or a construction worker.

Everything else about the truck is stock though.

i have seen a few early model cab and chassis without the button. you have the vgt turbo so you will need the switch from the dealer

There in lies the problem. I've called two dealerships and both looked up my VIN and both have said that the button is there... Uhhhh, no it's not. .

I'll call them back and tell them again that it's not there.. I presume even those early models have the e brake setup, it just needs the button to turn it on and off?

Ok, so I called my local dealer back. They in turn called Chrysler directly. Apparently on my "setup" the e brake is all internal to the turbo and it "controls itself". I'm guessing that means it's always on??? Weird because I don't feel any "retardation" when I let off the brake and do not hear the typical e brake "song" :-)

Thanks for your help guys. I really appreciate it. I'm sure I'll be back on here soon as I want to add a second turbo, smarty, lift, exhaust and possibly stacks in the future.

Thanks again.
