south bend dd came apart

just a thought
From a vendors point of view? A vendor nor manufacturer would or could stand behind other parts than what you were sold. (Trans, bell housing etc etc) in other words even if you bought a factory clutch and it exploded and ripped everything apart no one would cover any damages, how could they? They would be put of business in a flash! Who knows why other components cracked, I can say I've broken dd clutches and replaced damaged ones but I've yet to see any brand clutch cause mass carnage except in pulling applications.
I'm not trying to bash on you but when you buy performance parts and mod you're truck, only you hold the liability for damages. a manufacturer or vendor might try to help you but their not required, how could they determine that you didn't do a 4k 4x4 drop of the clutch? Hope it all works out!

Just a thought this is about the same thing in a way. When a gas station sells you fuel. They are liable for the fuel they sold you. Say. You get a tank of water ed down fuel. You unknowing run it. Burns your motor up and what not. That is on the station. My buddies truck just got totaled out from this very deal. And the station did not even make the fuel. They just sell it. That's what They have insurance. For. Southbend built the faulty cluctch and $hitty design for that matter. How could south bend not be liable.
Secondly you're saying you're buddies truck got watered down fuel and blew it up? I see a truck a week with large amounts of water in the fuel...not only is it obvious some thing is wrong but it typically eats injectors first and rarely is engine damage done. And there again the last time i saw a fuel company pay for damages they spent three days in mediation debating if the truck already had water in the fuel. Lastly you should take some time today and do what I said, read every performance or factory warranty disclaimer you can find. You might find that the only reason ANYONE would cover damage is because they feel they should. Not because their legally obligated.

ya got him. not saying if you get watery fuel its going to blow up. but it wiped out his injectors. they thought that was the only prob the station insurance paid for injectors/labor . they completely cleaned the fuelsystem. fired it back up it never leveled off. it ended up having 2 low compression cylinders after the water ordeal.
all that i am getting at a clutch or anything for that matter. if you have 2 ballanced 13'' circles you slide one over 1/4''. its no longer in ballance. thats all there is to it. they built why should they not be liable for this thing coming out of ballance
