Adding it is a good plan if you can afford it. Fuel quality varies so much you never know what you're getting. If you're running fuel with some bio, then you're getting a little lubricity from that and you could argue that you don't need additive, but there are other factors to consider:
cetane level
fuel stability
better combustion
Just some perks you can get from a quality additive.

I think the jury is still out on adding 2-stroke to a dpf system, but if it screws it up it gives you an excuse to remove it.I go power service white in winter grey the rest per instructions.I have used 2-stroke on the 09 and seems to make a diffrence in injector noise, a bit quieter but dont know if thats bad or good.I assume its because of changing the flash point of the fuel.Dont know if I can wait for warrenty to expire, hate the milage and restricted feeling when jumping on the throttle.
