Default 6.2 non turbo EGT probe?

Where are you guys with non turbo 6.2's putting your EGT probe? Is there a side that runs hotter? Are you putting it in the exhaust manifold or in the exhaust? Thanks.

I don't know why one side would run hotter than the other. Not saying one don't though.

I would doubt it. I wouldn't get to worried about it unless you put a turbo on it and turn the pump up then I would put on on it. Turning just the fuel up on a 6.2 without the turbo will not gain you much because on of the biggest problems with the 6.2na is they cannot get enough air.

I just want to monitor whats going on. What if I put a probe on each side and run the wires into one and then into the gauge. Would that work? Kinda like splitting the difference, maybe. Maybe ill just forget about it .

I understand that. I don't know if running two sensors would split the difference or confuse the gauge. As long as every thing is stock it should be fine if you want to add a turbo or turn up the pump I would put one on it.

Yes. I have a Banks EGT guage on pyro on my truck. I put the sensor in the manifold a couple of inches from where it comes out of the head. Remember of course, that H1's have steel headers to put them in!

Works great!!
