Default New Guy Looking for advise on current preoject

Hello to all! Im new to the site and to the diesel community as well. As Im sure most people find this site Im having some trouble with the old truck and looking for guidance. I started having a BAD miss SUDDENLY. Along with the miss came lots of black smoke out the tailpipe, NO power, a loud Knock from the top end as well. The truck was also trying to overheat to boot. I assume ots the injectors but we will know soon enough. I just purchased the injectors from pensacola diesel, along with the exhaust and other mods listed in my signature. I have started tearing the tuck apart already. I have removed the valve covers already and the valves seem fine nothings missing including the little plastic rocker retainers. All the springs are fine both sides. So now barring a burnt hole in a piston Im pretty sure its the injectors. i have to get the socket to remove the injectors tomorrow. Brings me to a question, I have heard of people blowing the tips of the injectors off on these old 6.5s any truth to that and what should I expect for removal in that case? Everything else has been great so far, the turbo bolts didnt even break like I expected they would. Since Im this far into the engine is there anything else I should be doing/looking for? I have thought about turning up the injection pump but not sure exactly of the process. There seems to be a few around and everyone has a different opinion it seems, thought maybe I would go with the consensus from here was. I think thats all my questions.........oh yeah whats the process for vac pump replacement and power steering pump replacement? I ordered those parts as well. I have been looking at for the vacuum pump on the engine but I must be blind cant find it. Im just not sure on the power steering seems like lots of hidden spots for bolts. Sorry for the long post any help will be greatly appreciated!

If you need help with any one specific part of the repair let me know, I'll post the instructions for you. If you have that many issues, It might be a good time for a complete tear down. Also , a note to everyone PLEASE DO NOT RUN PENSECOLA DIESEL INJECTORS... I'm not talking about anything other than their product. I've seen a lot of major issues stem from there injectors!

X2 only run bosch or standdyne in your fuel system. you get what you pay for. heath can hook you up for some genuine quality bosch injectors. by the way dont buy from SS diesel either. there the next cheapest place to get 6.5 parts. you will eventually get burned if you go there

Heath 6.5 Diesel injectors that wont kill your engine
