breaking starter bolts
You will want to make it correctly so you do not pull the starter funny and create an isue you do not have now.
Plenty of people have made them out of angle iron. As long as your holes are in the correct places there is absolutely no issues

Hate to butt in on your thread here but I just bought a 92 6.5. I was checking out some things today and noticed the starter has no bracket. One of bolts is a piece of all thread with a nut on it so I know its had issues. I cant get a bracket from my dealer till monday at best.
I really need the truck this weekend. Does anybody see a downside to making a bracket from angle iron?

Thanks. Luckily I was a able to find a picture of a guy holding a tape measure up to a stock bracket. So it made it easy to get the size right the first time. I was glad I didn't have to wait 4 days and pay 15 bucks for a 2 cent piece of steel.
