Edge cts insight or gauge pod
#4
I think it is very much worth the cost. In this case, too much information is better then not enough. I watch Trans Temp, EGT, Engine Oil Temp, Engine Coolant Temp, ICP Pressure, Boost, FICM Voltage, and Battery Voltage all at the same time. All things that I think are critical for these trucks. Mine is in a 2006 F550 service truck that weighs in at close to 17,000lbs.

I've got gauge pods in my truck, I liked the stand-alone gauges. The pods basically only read whatever the PCM is already reading, so to me it just seemed redundant, though not all readings are like this obviously (fuel pressure, egt's etc).
I still contemplate going to a CTS or similar though... they are nice units and clean up the cab nicely if you've got a slew of gauges. I will probably be going with the PHP Gryphon anyways for FICM tuning, and that can do a lot of those readings too.

If you have a iOS device (iTouch/iPad/iPhone), check out DashBoss. It will monitor everything right on the iOS device, including EGT and Fuel psi. Total cost is $300. That's half the cost of a Edge CTS with EGT and fuel psi. And about the same cost for a ScangaugeII with separate analog EGT and Fuel psi.

I got my insight right after I bought my truck about 3 months ago. Worked great then all of a sudden stopped working. Ive been back and forth with edge over what could cause the problem. On a good note Im one of the very very few people to have this problem. Its a great setup tho. Also running 4 pillar pod with EGT, Fuel pressure, Volt, and boost.
