Safety of my powerstroke

Mdrud, I aint gonna take it the wrong way I didnt know you couldent buy chips for a 6.0. Like I said I dont like the engines at all, Im hear to help give advice and to learn, I dont know everything Im willing to admitt that. Im just stating How I would do something and the prouducts Ive used and know work. Im not a racer Im just a rancher I dont race my trucks for competion. As for the exhaust gas recerculation did not me to put unburnt thats an F up on me I familiar with It just typed it out wrong. I aint gonna take anything of what you said wrong. But understand Im just giving advice of how I would do thing I also dont belive im misleading, yes there plenty of trucks pushing 400 or so Hp with nothing more than a tuner or studs but trust me itll catch up. Ive seen it. you definatly see it in the rebuild. All of this is my two cents. Plus im not a non owner theres a 6.0 in our family were just to ashamed to say so it a piece of ****.

"Chips" as you call them can mean several things to most people... You can install a chip on a 7.3 powerstroke, infact you pretty much have to if you want to run anything over stock. A chip does not "trick" the computer into doing anything, it replaces the programing or has the computer use the programs on the chip rather then what is on the PCM.
No tricks at all...
On a 6.0 you can not chip them... You can use boxes (like the ones you recommended) that "trick" or "fool" the computer into boosting ICP pressures or adding timing...
Or you can go with an SCT type of Flash tuner (which replaces the factory PCM programing with a tune writen by a specific tuner)... This is the correct way to add power to a 6.0...
In fact you would have to use a flash tuner in order to properly run a 6.0 with larger capacity injectors. You would also want to run a flash tuner to adjust the tranny and shift points for the added power.
90% of the products out for the 5.9 are "trickery" or "Foolers" that make the computer think areas are not what they should be and boosting them... Giving you added power.

custom programmers and boxes can also correct duration and timing that should be done with bigger injectors. as well as remove codes from doing an EGR delete, change tcc lock up rpms and speed, raise rpms and shift points on an automatic transmission with a truck that has a much larger turbo, change duty cycle on pressure regulators (because the pump is always going to put out the same work whether or not it goes through the pressure relief or not). calibrate for larger tires, limit/raise the torque the engine makes during shifting so it does not damage the transmission or hold the truck back. calibrate for a larger intake so the MAF sensor can be calibrated correctly so the engine can have the right air fuel mixture, smooth out idle. i can keep on going but programmers can do so much.
they dont always push the fuel system to the max.

Any how CTPowerstoke good luck to what you wanna do! I hope I gave out some decent advice Im not an 6.0 Expert but the saftey of you engine is preparing it for the boost in Horsepowerand torque. Good luck!

Depends what tunes you're planning on running. EGR delete and studs should be at the top of the list, guages should also be there. I'd get fuel pressure, engine oil temp, engine coolant temp, and pyro. Don't bother with a boost gauge unless you want, and same with trans unless you're towing really heavy and all the time.

i was planning on getting the SCT that is the touch screen computer that has all the readings in it and the egr delete is already on the way
