Default A true bomb

So tomorrow or sometime this week i have a 07 6.0 to be built to the hilt on my box. Saw it when i was locking up my box. I will be at least 2-3 weeks on this truck and will post updates. Unfortunatly i wont be able to post pics, my camera went AWOL and my phone takes crap pics.

Here is a list of things i will be doing i have seen a trans coffin and TONS of boxes this guys bed is full of components and i cant wait to see what i have comming. All Cash Pay too!
As per RO (3 pages long)
1. Installing an aftermarket radiator
2. Installing coolant filter
3. Installing an aftermarket transmission, torque converter, New trans lines, tranny cooler and external filter.
4. Installing aftermarket turbo
5. Installing aftermarket exhaust components (crossing fingers for stacks because this has a rear slider window)
6. Installing aftermarket drive shaft
7. Installing aftermarket heads
8. Installing aftermarket intake manifold gaskets included(assuming heads and intake are ported maybe even fire ringed)
9. Installing aftermarket injectors
10. Installing upgraded egr system (assuming egr delete since thats what our svc mgr writes for egr delete or bullet proof egr)
11. Installing new oil cooler
12. Installing aftermarket camshaft (when i read that i damn near had a heart attack from excitment)
13. Installing aftermarket performance upgrades (assuming a chip but there are far too many boxes in bed and rear seat)
14. Installing 35x12.50x17s (tires are in parts room)
15. Installing upgraded fuel system (assuming fuel pump fuel lines etc)
16. Installing upgraded CAC (intercooler)
17. Installing lift kit and dual steering stabilizers
18. Perform alignment
19. Installing upgraded FICM and FICM bracket (havent heard of an upgraded ficm bracket i assume its the early build 1 piece bracket which is far more sturdier than the late build 2 piece less vibration)
20. Install custom audio system
21. Installing upgraded brake components
22. Install body upgrades (it better not be a spoiler/rice rocket wing)
23. Install remaining componentry + follow all proceedures and torque specs.

For this build i will be tearing the front end apart (grille head lights coolers etc undo the front 4 cab mounts and raise the front of the cab and remove the engine) then once all the engine is done ill road test it and verify everything is good then install the lift and tires.

Well theres at least 20k in parts in the bed of this truck.
Propane, Nitrous, both have toggle switches Water meth which is supposed to be wired into the gas pedal.
Much larger turbo, pretty much appears to be a stock sized turbo but has larger inlet and outlet.

Has a different hpop and tons of goodies. The heads are fire ringed (will have to hone the top of the cyls and mic em for perfect fit) and have larger intake and exhaust ports. sinister egr delete arp studs black onyx gaskets.

I have 1 question for anyone who has black onyx gaskets what kind of luck and what kind of mods do you have running with them? Ive never installed aftermarket gaskets, only ford gaskets with the studs and the trucks either stayed stock or highly modified and didnt have any issues, but after i road test em for the first time i pop the valve covers off and turn the nuts another 90* other techs just follow the 70 140 210ftlbs 90* and ship em.

Use OEM Ford head gaskets, the black onyx are not the correct thickness even uncompressed, worse when compressed. I would only use FORD. GOGO does offer copper ones though, might be worth looking at for this extensive of a build.

What injectors, what turbo, want more info here!

I'd toss the propane in the fuggin garbage personally.... why on earth would anyone need propane with the other mods already listed. Silly I tell ya.

Who's trans?

This is like torture, give us this huge build sheet and no specs!! BAhhhhh!!!! Is he a local NY guy?

Sounds like some mis-matched parts here. I'd really like to know what turbo and injectors they will be using, and that will help pick the rest of the parts here. Sounds like some jackwagon went to a diesel supply website and just bought everything available with no help on choosing parts here. Just my 2 cents.

Call me a traitor, but if I had 20k to throw at this truck, a 5.9 commonrail would be sitting under the hood.

if you had 20 grand to throw at a truck why the hell would you drop a cummins in it?
thats like putting a honda motor in a ferrari imo .
sorry just not a cummins fan... at all
we 12 valve swapped my 74 ford. cool truck good power. but with 8 grand in aftermarket **** on that 12 valve it wont stay with my powerstroke..
if i could do it all over again i would defintly drop a 7.3 in that old 74!

I'd like to discuss that more, but in lieu of keeping this thread on track... I'd like to hear more about this 6.0 build. I agree, nothing really sounds like a straight-piped/tuned 6.0. I wish I got the powerslider for the rear glass in my truck, PITA to reach back and slide it open manually. The stacks sound killer with the glass open.

Turbo appears externally slightly different from a stock one, it is a garret vgt. the impellar housing is larger and compressor housing is larger.

The transmission is from BD the externall cooler is from BD sct livewire is in the truck, i just got done putting the motor together and turned it by hand. no valves hit, used a cyl hone and inside mic to break the carbon ridge off the top of the cyl and the fire rings fit tight. sinister egr delete, now im just drilling the intake and putting the nitrous nozles in and the water meth injects into cac tube.

Probably a garrett powermax? Sounds like a pretty large waste of $20k if he's only going to be touching 500hp or less at the wheels. Really would like to know what turbo it is exactly and what injectors are being used.

Any manufacturing numbers on the turbo? Garrett GT3788VA?
