I think it has to be machined out and not worth it from what I hear...

As far as smoke switches, He will be much better off getting custom tunes for it.

The silencer ring removal on a 6.0 is a waste of time. As for smoke switches, it can be done and the information is out there. I refuse to help anyone with this nonsense though, he's the kind of guy who's ruining diesel motorsports for the rest of us. I guess I fail to see why it's so cool to have less power, blow smoke on everything in sight and destroy your turbo in the process.... what am I missing?

Welcome to the forum.

You can swap a 2003 6.0 turbo in there, thats about the easiest way... Otherwise you can go with aftermarket turbos that will give you a bit more.

Its just a sound however. The ring in the factory turbos is to reduce surge, has nothing to do with keeping anything quiet.

Sorry bout that it just gets old hearing them same questions asked all the time. The smoke switch crap will ruin the turbo as for the silencer ring your better of doing what CSIPSD said and getting an 03 turbo or a powermax
