Default air dog kit 2005

i have installed my air dog two kit two months ago and left it on the original factory setting of 55psi....Lowest setting...

What is the benifit to increase the pressure with the built in regulator...

I think i can raise it to 70 psi using the adjustment

thanks

jim

Idle fuel pressure isn't really going to tell you much, really need to see what it's doing under load. No point in touching anything without knowing where you're at now. Goign to 70psi over 55psi isn't going to really change anything at all. I think most set them at 60-65psi though.

^ this is where i was headed. thank you

With stock injectors 55 is probably fine, your not gonna drop but maybe 1-2PSI at WOT, where as with larger injectors you could drop 3-5PSI. But without a fuel pressure gauge theres no way of telling if you need to adjust it at all. And mike i don't know how the AD2 works but i think he was talking about using the test gauge at idle to get the PSI up to the level he wanted.

So are you running tunes or is it stock? If you're running no tuning, I'd like to say you're fine right where you're at, but the only way to tell is..... can you guess.....?...... a fuel pressure guage!!!!!

Seriously. A FP gauge is like having a secret agent decoder. It will tell you what is going on instantly with the lifeline of your motor!

If you're running tunes, you could be dropping fuel pressure like crazy on a hot tune with stock injectors yes!

ISSPRO EV2 is the fuel pressure I have. Autometer also has nice gauges. Kind of your preference, but you get what you pay for, so no glowshift gauges from ebay.
