A fuel sump is mounted on the bottom of the fuel tank. This low point allows the fuel to push out of the tank instead of being lifted out by the OEM pump. This extra pressure provides positive flow to the pump. It's not required but will add to the efficiency of the AD you will be using. Helman's has a sump as well as Truck Source Diesel.
