Get the SCT with custom tunes, an AirDog and a fuel sump.

Yup! SCT with tunes and an EGR delete and head studs. Just fix the problems before they arise. The EGR will crack, it's not if just when. Just delete it and enjoy yer truck.

you have a good list started. SCT is the only way to go when it comes to tuning a 6Leaker. I would purchase a Edge Insight with a pyrometer probe to watch your EOT, ECT, and EGT. You should also look into a Fuel Pressure gauge.

Take the time and do them yourself. You can unhook the cab mounts and just jack it up a bit. That is how I have always done 6.0L head studs. It will take some time but you can save a lot of money doing things yourself. I charge $500 for labor and that includes doing the EGR delete at the same time. I usually do these in my driveway because there is no shop overhead that way.

It will save you a lot of headaches in the long run! Trust me

don't worry about studs til the truck pukes....

coolant filter and running correct non silicate coolant is the big things, drive it hard (well not too hard) and keep it maintained and should have no big issues

i run erics exteme street tune with no studs, and still have stock egr cooler and truck runs great
