TransGo for a TorqShift
The runaway pressure refers to programmers pounding too much pressure to the trans and cracking the case. This sounds much like what happened to my friend's 5R110 using a Super Chips. It shifted so hard that it would spin 38s with a loaded car trailer, ultimately destroying the transmission.

Thanks for posting the results from your phone call. Appreciate that.

Had you not posted that link, I would not have known that I needed to drop the trans to install this shift kit. Looks like we helped each other out.

Not sure if anyone knows this yet, or if anyone cares, but Doug @ GoGo just released a transbrake for the 5R110 now too, how awesome is that? It is used by controlling the solenoids and locking the gears together. It can allow you to build all the boost you want and will be sure to help you find the next weak link in your driveline. Seriously, that is awesome though!

No problem. The solenoid is very easy to do in case anyone didn't know. Drain the fluid (if you do this into a VERY clean ((preferably brand new)) pail, you can re-use it), drop the tranny pan, solenoids are right there, unplug, unbolt, replace with new part, bolt pan back on, put fluid back in, done. So easy a caveman could do it.

Are you asking how to do it? Karls03 just posted that in his last response... transmission needs to be removed, converter has to come off... parts in pump are replaced. I'm sure that is FAR more involved than doing the solenoid.
i'm sure doing the shift kit yourself will be a pain if you haven't had your hands in a transmission before, but i have the transgo in my 4R100 and love it, good quick and firm shifts, even on bone stock tuning its great and all the way up to the 120 race tune
A trans-brake ain't no joke! These things WILL find your other weak links. It's nice to know that they are out there, but until I put a Power Stroke into a Mustang, it's a little too hard-core for my truck. I don't have one in my '67 Mustang on nitrous...yet.
4R100's are different animals. The 7.3s needed a shift kit just to help the tranny limp along with nothing more than a programmer. On a 6.0 with custom tunes you get transmission programming to back up the engine programming and shouldn't have any issues. Two completely different trans. I know guys who use the transgo's in their allisons too, to help them live just a little longer. I am in no way knocking transgo, I know they make a great product, I was just saying it wont do what tuning can for a 5R110. that's all.
