Default Finding more out of the VE....

So i am at the point where i want to find every bit of power my ve pump on my 93 can produce and i need your guys help! heres a list of what ive already got done:
-Bosch 4200rpm gov spring
-Denny T stage 2 Fuel Pin
-Fuel Screw close to runaway
-AFC lever grinded
-Starwheel bottomed out
-Heavier 89-early 91 style fuel pin afc spring
-Smoke screw bottomed
-Speed screw/WOT stop removed
-Advanced timing a little more then 1/8 inch
-about to reclock the throtle shaft index 1 tooth and grind lever to adjust idle
what else can i do to this pump this is about all the info i can find and the truck runs pretty good w this but im trying to make serious p pump contending power numbers with a ve but still keep it streetable i dont want to spent $2500 on a non streetable 14mm id like to here some reviews about the streetability/longevity of a 13mm but id like to stay 12mm. I understand that i still need to play with the tuning of my afc to get everything dialed in just right but i need all i can get out of this pump, any help is greatly appreciated!

What are you doing about air to support the additional fuel?

And who says a 14mm isn't streetable?

ahhh so glad u commented david! just the person i wanted to talk to, im going to run a very similar compound set up that you have except im just going to run an hx35 over an ht3b, ive got the turbos, im studed just ready to build piping(going w/ PDR for my hot pipe) then build the rest, and i was told the tolerences on a 14mm ve were too tight and they dont get lubricated properly and burn up, although i would like to stick w a 12mm

Cold starts are lame, but then again I don't have grid heaters either. Once it warms up, it's not that bad..........

Give me till later this evening and I'll post from notes from when I ran an HX35/Hybrid over an HT3B. Might go to the track tonight. Just watching I think. Too hot to run. But then . . . .

-Bosch 4200rpm gov spring A 3800 would work better IMO
-Denny T stage 2 Fuel Pin I'd run the M&H #3
-Fuel Screw close to runaway
-AFC lever grinded That's gonna kill the throttle response
-Starwheel bottomed out No. Bring it up till the "Tipping into the throttle" smoke turns to grey
-Heavier 89-early 91 style fuel pin afc spring Never heard of that. More info please
-Smoke screw bottomed No. Back it all the way out. In fact, grind a little from under the AFC cover to help the pin back out fully
-Speed screw/WOT stop removed
-Advanced timing a little more then 1/8 inch Once you get everything else where you want it, take it to a dyno and dial the timing in
-about to reclock the throtle shaft index 1 tooth and grind lever to adjust idle Dunno what you're talking about there

A Pee-pump truck can hurt your feelings. Choose your battles wisely.

As best I can dig up . . .

- With a PDR HX35 hybrid w/14cm is gated at 38psig, DDP4s (? I think) and a ported head 363 HP with 685ft/lbs torque on #2

- 405/840 on #2 DDP4s HX35/Hybrid over an HT3B

- 447.9hp / 822.2ft/lbs #2 6x.016 Shied EDMs, a Hamilton 181/210 cam and a big Hellman IC

- 489/845. 62/14 secondary, fuel, a little W/M and a LOT of timing advance.

Give or take. Dynos suck. Take it to the track.

thanks for the help, sounds like i screwed up when i grinded the afc lever as far as that spring in the afc goes as i was refering to is the one that sits on the starwheel i got an 89 pump and that spring was much stiffer then my stock 93 pump dunno y and everyone talks about turning ur throtle shaft one notch clockwise to where its supost to be they claim it gives you more throtle travel idk if its true just what ive heard sir thanks for the good info so after dialing the afc in and seting the timing just right u think im done w the pump? btw b4 advancing my timing it ran 16.90 in 4wd w hx35 and couldnt get overdrive to shift right do u race w od off?

- I wish folks could come up with a part number for the AFC spring stuff.

- I understand what you're saying about adjusting the throttle-shaft. I'd take it apart and see what it's doing instead of arbitrarily moving it one notch though.

- I race in 4WD, no OD in the eighth mile track.
