Question 727 help please

okay, i got my race converter, and my cluthes and steels ordered, i went with the red eagle and kolene setup that says i can fit one extra clutch inside the drum, so question is, "when i swap out the cluthes and steels are there any other little tthings i should look for while i have my transmission stripped down?" also i have a question about pullin and drag racing my truck. with the transmission setup with the 1500 stall converter, red eagle cluthes+1, and the shift kit installed with the street and strip or off road setup, and the trans being rebuilt 10,000 miles ago and i do not plan on having it in there forever, its why i am only changing the clutches and steels. and motor wise i can push 41 psi(i pedal it now to 34-35 to keep egt's low) "do you think i could enter my truck in the truck pulls and feel safe that she will hold/ stay together?" Thank you.

Default 727 help please

Other than billet servo's, shift kit, goerend 14 blade converter, and heavy band apply strut my trans has all stock components. Maybe heavier clutch material (trans was rebuilt for pulling a trailer) Pulled twice and didn't lift but only for a second for a little hop. That's around 45psi and maybe 300-350 horse

Trust me it's a rush. Test your 4wd before hand... Make sure it actually locks. Pulled 211 feet in 2wd my first pull. My lockouts are shot

cant complain about mine, wasnt as huge of a difference as i had expected but with 6" of lift and no sway bar the truck handles pretty well. be prepared for alot of fab work moving the steering box to the 2wd holes. gonna need some bracing to help with frame flex since the box will be moving side to side rather than front to back... look around here for my cross over/high steer posts. you'll get a pretty good idea of what it will all take and afew other guys put in some useful information as well.

Age doesn't mean anything, just turned 22 and only been wrenching for four-ish years... I've learned ALOT of stuff in those 4 years. Just gotta be open to learn it man. If you've got the mechanical aptitude the only thing holding you back is your own will to learn. Keep goin man, there's alot I still don't know and probably never will

im taking the valve body out for the fith time tomorrow, have any of you guys had any issues with b & m shift kits? i first installed the full offroad setup, wouldnt shift, so i took everything down re did the band settings went through the vb and found that the supplied 1-2 govener plug was getting wedged, so i took it out and put the old one in and re set the vb to the street and strip setup making sure al lthe ***** were in the right place and making sure all the plugs valves bypasses and slides moved freely. re installed it with high hopes, still no shifty into 2 and third. i got a solid reverse and first gear feels like it has to build up line preasure at the rear apply servo for a few seconds(applyig trottle without it moving) before the rear servo finally applys the rear band and applys hard (lots of burn out marks on the gravel drivewa), i finally called b & M after following their instruction to a t 3 times i let them know whats going on, they told me because i have installed two diff kits they cant be sure i have done everything right, only assumed

that i have, so he told me to try one more time and to put check marks next to every step as to make sure none were missed and also that if it does not work that i should by a new seperator plate and try again or a another untouched vb or one thats already done. i am getting tired of it not working and i need my truck cause i hate borrowing my dads truck to drive to work and the gf is has been extremely understanding and i dont want to make here wait another month cause i cant stand to leave something stock. so i am wondering if any of you have had or seen this problem with these diesel 727's and if so any ideas and or any recomendations on what i should do if it does not work and what aftermarket vb that are forward pattern half manual setups that work well in our trucks. all i do is drag race raock crawl, tow quads and dirt bikes and use it as my daily driver. im putting in a b & M floor shifter once i get this dang 727's vb figured out. thank you diesel bombers for all your help on this and past qestions ive had.
