I wanted to see how far i could push the 727.... I found out and wish I hadn't.

I think you will be happy with the convertor and a good shift kit. Might refreshen it while its out. New cluthces and steels would not hurt and are pretty cheap.

Reds.

If your brave and have a clean area to work on it you can do it yourself and save more money. The 727 is crazy easy to work on. Find a good book.

Its the torque, put a bunch of fuel and an aftermarket turbo that seems to light all at once together and your torque curve has gotta spike like crazy. Maybe even beyond the 727's capabilities. Probably the only thing saving my trans is my small set of injectors, any larger and I'd probably be breaking something

I *think* (<--Key word) I was making a bit over that when mine started breaking. Its all in how you drive them too. I drove the crap out of my truck, boosted launches, full throttle manual VB neck snapping shifts, sled pulls, ect. I abused the hell out of my truck. I WANTED to find weak points. In the end the weakest point was my wallet! For what I spent on my 1st gen I could have built my 06 into a monster...

You have teh parts you need to work on the tune. Maxed out is not always the most power. I made more usable power with my AFC set way up and smoke screw too.
