How much power out of a tweaked pump?
#11
Great torque numbers in your sig. Is the engine stock?
Could I get similar results following your sig?

yes my core engine componets are stock. if you went with what i have i dont see why couldnt get similar power. im making that power with a stock rebuild tranny with 40k on it. i also still have the stock lift pump. i wouldnt go with a HX-40 if you do the mods i have. mine is wayy passed its limits and is holding me back so i bet i would have a better improvement there as well. one other thing i need to play with is my timing. i only have it advance 1/8" and id like to get the m&h timing spacer and see what i can do with that. torque your head down to 125lbs too so u can buy some time before your head gasket goes (if you havent done that yet).

Ok guys. Gonna resurrect a dead thread here. This past winter I put a low pressure piston style lift pump on the tractor. Otherwise, no mods apart from what I initially discussed. I am working at the John Deere dealer now and got permission to put it on the certified PTO dyno at work..... 227 hp peak @ the pto. Uncorrected, at southern Michigan altitudes.. Feelin pretty good about that!
So, with stock injectors, baby h1c, low pressure piston pump, and maxed VE, I would say that 250 flywheel HP is possible.
