Default Homemade Air Dog

Maxed ve pump, denny-t pin, m and h dynamic timing spacer, 3200 gov spring, ground fuel leg, sdx 5X.014s, phat shaft 62/65/14, 4in exhaust, bhaf, nv4500 with valair ceramic single, mahle pistons, arp head studs.

Built this engine for a first gen restore but am going to drop it in a 94 I picked up because I want the heavy axles and the 241hd transfer case and 355 gear ratio. My little project here is to clean up the fuel delivery system. I want to run a 1/2 in hose from the tank to the inlet of the ve and do away with my fuel filter on the side of the head. I plan on using a 1/2 in draw straw, section of 1/2 in hose, inline screen filter, section of hose, summit racing 100gph electric pump, section of hose, frame mounted fuel/water seperator off of a semi, section of hose, return style regulator to keep fuel pressure around 12 psi, then run hose all the way up to a hose barb screwed into my pump. What should I do with my return lines from the injectors? What type of hose and clamps are safe to use with diesel? What thread pitch does the inlet of the ve pump have? Is the single fuel/water seperator adequate enough to get the air bubbles out of the fuel or do i need to run two filters? Where should i tap in to get my reading for fuel pressure gauge?

The reason I don't want to buy an airdog or fass is because money is tight at this point of the build and my buddy has a pump that he bought for his 24 valve but he thought it was introducing too many air bubbles into the fuel. The pump built about 25 psi on his pickup. This is how I know I will need a regulator.

Thanks for any input guys. Steer me in the right direction if you will please haha.

That sounds fine

What should I do with my return lines from the injectors?

What type of hose and clamps are safe to use with diesel?

Run a DIESEL APPROVED line back to the return port on the tank and use just standered hose clamps

What thread pitch does the inlet of the ve pump have?
Where should i tap in to get my reading for fuel pressure gauge?

It is a funny pitch IMO I would but the 90* airdog fitting thats pre tapped for the PSI

Is the single fuel/water seperator adequate enough to get the air bubbles out of the fuel or do i need to run two filters?

I would run 2 one water sep and one fuel filter

The reason I don't want to buy an airdog or fass is because money is tight at this point of the build and my buddy has a pump that he bought for his 24 valve but he thought it was introducing too many air bubbles into the fuel. put a piece of clear hose right before the pump and see whats going in

Thanks for any input guys. Steer me in the right direction if you will please haha.

I think I have completed the task
there ya go

Thanks for the advice Big Bad Diesel. My questions are answered. I'll post some pictures up when I get all of the parts rounded up.
