Default Star Wheel Adjustment

Is there a socket that I can purchase that will help with adjusting the star wheel? I can't get it to budge at all. I tried several different screwdrivers and it's very tight. Am I missing a step?

maybe I'll create a tool that will catch a few of the splines. I looked into the pump today and saw that the fuel pin was in the deepest position, turned down the smoke screw two turns and I still have no smoke no matter what I do.

I did break the fuel linkage attaching plastic piece, was in a hurry and didn't realize that one was left hand threads...hate when I rush things.

It might already be maxed out. I just turned mine with a screwdriver like 90Cummins.

It's a 1992, maybe it is maxed out but I still need to turn up the fuel screw so maybe that will help. I believe I'll try and get some new injectors like the bosch 190's or some other ones that give 30-50hp and improve efficency.

no smoke.... have you turned the smoke screw down so you're starting off at a deeper position on the fuel pin? shouldnt need more than a turn to notice a difference with the pin rotated

Maybe I'm misunderstanding... you want smoke?! Why? That's just throwing money away IMO. As well as wasted energy that would be better used getting you to move forward faster.
However, if you want smoke, try plugging your air intake.

Again, I may be misunderstanding what it is you're trying to do...

scratch my previous post... didnt catch that you turned the screw twice. KD39; aggressive smoke is bad, the only problem is, in order to spool any turbo you need fuel. the H1C just happens to be laggy making the problem worse. gotta give some to get some. i agree there is a point where it's too much and can actually hurt spool up, just gotta find the sweet spot
